effective advertising?

These ads are so striking, because it's what I'd imagined was happening in there all along.
But seriously, it's pretty eye-catching. Check out some other unique ads from this year here.

Netflix makes us hermits

For some reason, we never go to the movies lately because we're always finding it easier to remain at home and watch our Netflix movies. But last weekend we braved the freezing weather to go to the BAM theaters and watched a cartoon. Well actually it was a graphic illustrated novel about a young Iranian girl coming of age during the Islamic revolution and developed into a film version. I found it really surprisingly upbeat for the dark, heavy subject matter. And very inspiring as the main character has all the hopes and dreams of a young girl anywhere in the world despite the increasingly oppressive regime that governs Iran. It's definitely worth viewing this 90 min film, which not only gives some insight into Iran's recent history but let's us get a glimpse of how life was for the average citizen there. Very moving.

ringing in the new year with parties

wooo-hooo we celebrated the new year with some parties --- the first 2 images are actually from my holiday party, this year at the Foundry (www.thefoundry.info ) It looks a little tame -- I've got to work on my dancing and posing for photos.

The other photos are from a the New Year's party we went too at a friend's home - these pics look much more festive. Although I don't know why Rod & I weren't hanging out together! I think we managed to connect right after the ball dropped at midnight. There was even a romantic proposal from one of the party revelers -- luckily she accepted!
